The National Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The course covers electrical theory, circuit design, wiring, and safety protocols, preparing graduates for careers as electricians and electrical technicians.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be eligible for admission into the National Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Academic Requirements:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with at least 3 credit passes.
- Applicants must have a credit pass in Mathematics and a science-related subject such as Physics or Technical Drawing.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess practical skills or prior knowledge in basic electrical systems or relevant subjects.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a background in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or Technical Studies.
Program Duration
- Study Duration: Two years (4 semesters).
- The program consists of both theoretical learning and practical hands-on training.
Tuition Fees
Tuition Fees per Semester:
- UGX 450,000/- per semester.
Administrative Charges:
- UGX 537,000/- for administrative charges applicable annually.
Program Curriculum
The curriculum for the National Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance includes a range of topics:
Electrical Theory and Principles
- Understanding of electrical circuits, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Application of Ohm’s Law and power calculations.
Electrical Safety Standards

Installation of Electrical Systems
