🎯 Program Overview

This hands-on program blends theoretical knowledge with real-world media practices. Students gain experience in news writing, audio-visual editing, photography, social media management, and public communication. The curriculum emphasizes accuracy, objectivity, and ethical reporting, preparing graduates for roles in traditional and emerging media.

🎓 Course Objectives

  • Build competency in news reporting, script writing, and editorial work.
  • Introduce students to digital tools for photography, videography, and editing.
  • Train learners in media law, press freedom, and ethical journalism.
  • Develop communication skills for public relations and media outreach.
  • Prepare students to use social media professionally for news and marketing.

🧾 Admission Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have completed the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrate interest in journalism, media production, or public communication.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Program Duration

  • 2 Academic Years (4 Semesters)
    Includes coursework, practical media assignments, internships, and final UVTAB assessment.
