Amnesty Offered to Former UICT Students: Complete Your Programmes and Unlock Opportunities

We have great news for former students of the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) who registered between 2008/09 and 2017/2018 but were unable to complete their programmes within the stipulated timeframe. The UICT Examinations regulations allowed a maximum of eight semesters (four academic years) for diploma students. However, we understand that circumstances may have hindered your progress. That is why we are pleased to announce an amnesty opportunity for you to finally complete your programmes.

Amnesty Terms

During the 91st Academic Board Meeting held on Tuesday, 16th May 2023, it was decided to grant amnesty to students who are still interested in completing their programmes. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must meet the following terms:

  1. Completion of at least three semesters: You should have successfully completed a minimum of three semesters of your programme.
  2. Expression of interest: Notify the Office of the Academic Registrar (AR) of your intention to resume and complete your studies. This step is crucial to ensure your inclusion in the amnesty offer.
  3. Clearance by the bursar’s office: Prior to expressing your interest, make sure you have cleared any outstanding financial obligations with the bursar’s office.

Important Dates

If you meet the amnesty terms and wish to complete your programme, please take note of the following dates:

  • Notification period: Notify the Office of the Academic Registrar between 15th June and 15th July 2023.

Concluding Note

We strongly encourage all former UICT students who qualify for the amnesty offer to seize this opportunity and submit their expression of interest within the specified period. Failure to register during this timeframe will result in automatic de-registration.

Completing your studies at UICT will not only provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the rapidly evolving field of information and communications technology but also open doors to new opportunities.

Don’t miss out on this chance to finally achieve your educational goals and embark on a promising future. We look forward to welcoming you back to UICT as you continue your academic journey.
